Royal Dining at City Best

For their joint birthday celebration, Monique and Vicky treated the clan to Chinese dinner at Royal Dining at City Best along Tomas Morato Avenue in Quezon City.  As you can see from the above picture, the full name of the restaurant is really a mouthful!  And so were the dishes--

For starters, we had steamed suahe (little white shrimps) and lapu-lapu fish head soup.  You could taste the freshness of the shrimps and the fish; I imagined that they had an aquarium with live seafood!

For the meal we had (from top to bottom) fried spicy pork cutlets, steamed fish (this was the body of the very same lapu-lapu fish, cooked the second way), stir-fried french beans, yellow tofu in oyster sauce with bokchoy, hot prawn salad, three cups chicken, the ever-present dried fish fried rice, sauteed polonchay with garlic, taro duck, Cantonese beef tenderloin, the most important birthday noodles and our free desserts--almond lychee gulaman and butchi.

Our spending was pretty reasonable, considering that we had a function room all to ourselves,  plus a giant round table (capable of seating 18-20 people) to enjoy!  Tab came to P700 per head for this fine meal, a memorable birthday celebration for Monique and Vicky!
