Lamborghini Urus

It's fun to go shopping on the internet, and sometimes the whole online experience gives a strange twist to the meaning of the concept of window shopping.... Trolling the web, I came across the Lamborghini Urus, which is the everyday SUV of the brand.  Simpy eye-catching, wonderfully mouth-watering, this is the vehicle I'd like Monique to have.  Unveiled in Beijing last April 2012, this baby looks more like a crossover sports vehicle rather than an SUV (they say it's not as high as the BMW X6 or the Porsche Cayenne).  From newspaper reports, I gather that the vehicle packs some 600 horsepower, and is right in the US$200,000 price range (with local import duties and taxes, that would put it in the P16 million range).  I understand that they have used a lot of carbon fiber, which makes for a lighter curb weight.  Lamborghini is owned by Audi, which in turn is part of Volkswagen.  Interestingly, the name Urus is derived from a German species of large horned cattle that went extinct some 400 years ago.  Hmmm.... eye-candy from corned beef...

Silver Phantom

I was just watching a DVD of the Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon, when one of the characters hops in a Maybach... such luxury!  While I haven't taken a ride in a Maybach, I remember my first ride in a Rolls Royce--I was like a child with a new plaything!  The Silver Phantom was everything one would dream of!  Lush wooden trim, fancy silver buttons, firm seats.  Well now when I really think about it, it wasn't  that spacious, and the ride wasn't the "floating suspension" that I expected, but what the heck, it was Rolls Royce, and I truly enjoyed the ride!  Yeah man!

Zartz

We passed by the toy store at the Eastwood Mall, and saw an interesting foam dart called Zartz that can be thrown both indoors and outdoors.  This little toy has a special suction foam padding that sticks practically on almost all kinds of surfaces!  I got one as a stress-reliever; Monique just smiles whenever she sees me play with this toy--it's my inexpensive nifty fun plaything!

Gamo

I got a call from Hahn Manila about the availability of some Gamo airguns that I had been interested in.  I went to their Greenhills store, and yes, they are indeed available!  I was thinking that my fully licensed Hatsan long rifle delivers .22 pellets at slightly over 1,000 fps, and this already puts it in my defense arsenal.  Being heavy, it's not to easy to haul around.  I've been looking at the Gamo caliber .177 short rifle for my collection, with highlighted sights, break-barrel cocking that delivers a regular muzzle speed of just around 550 fps.  Nice for garage plinking!  Lightweight, handy, even the kids can shoot the rifle with relative ease.  Not bad for around P9k, but again, I can hear Vicky's voice in the back of my head... hehehe....  I've got so much junk already!
